Athleticism prevailed at the finals of Dancing with the Stars, the hit U.S. dancing show, as Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno emerged victorious and walked away with the coveted trophy.

Ohno, 25, a two-time gold medalist in the Winter Olympics, and partner Julianne Hough churned out their best in a closely fought final on Tuesday to win the fourth season of ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars.

The second position was claimed by former ‘NSync singer Joey Fatone and partner Kym Johnson while Laila Ali, the world female super middleweight boxing champion and daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, came third along with partner Maksim Chmerkovsky.

Ohno and Hough were leading the show with a total of 88 points awarded by the three judges in the two-night final, closely followed by Fatone and Johnson with 86 points and Laila Ali and Chmerkovsky with 85 points.

Ohno and Hough claimed the disco-ball trophy after a public telephone vote favoured them and sealed their victory.
