Joaquin Phoenix is a fine actor… and a pretty confusing person. Last October, he made it clear to the media that he has taken retirement from his acting career to pursue a career in music. Of course, he followed it up by growing his beard and spreading words that he is all set to become a rapper. And now, when we have almost accustomed ourselves to see him as a rapper, there are unconfirmed reports that all that was a hoax.
A source close to him spilled the bean while speaking to a celebrity website. According to the source, Joaquin’s performance at a Las Vegas nightclub earlier this month was part of an art project (read: hoax for us). And Joaquin???s brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, is playing his sidekick by filming the entire episode. The source further quoted him as saying,
It???s a put-on. I???m going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it.
Now, this is getting too much weird. You know, I have a scratchy feeling that something has just gone haywire for Joaquin. Maybe Joaquin was honest initially when he made the announcement to change careers! And later he learned that growing beard and shooting words is not his game. Yes, I’m sure this is the case.
Anyway, I’m satisfied with the climax because I love Joaquin’s acting. And he did prove it with this episode. Cheers to you, Joaquin!
