Robert Pattinson hit by taxicab… escapes unhurt!

Robert Pattinson was hit by a taxicab while trying to escape hysterical female fans yesterday. The brooding vampire was filming scenes for his new movie Remember Me at the Strand Bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street, and was clipped on his hip by a moving cab when he came out of the store and attempted to run across the street to escape a hoard of fans. Luckily, the 23-year-old Twilight heartthrob was not injured.

RadarOnline reports,

A team of five security guards were trying to fend off a crowd of teenaged girls when Robert was leaving the bookstore.

It was pouring rain as they tried to hustle him quickly across the busy street to the safety of his trailer.

Some of the teen girls were hysterical and Robert rushed across the road. As he did so, a taxi grazed him. The cabbie slammed on his brakes as soon as he realized what had happened.

It appeared as if the cab hit Rob in the hip. He stood there for a moment looking stunned. The bodyguard next to him checked if he was okay and then screamed and the fans: “You see what you did, you almost killed him!”

I think both Pattinson and his female fans need to learn a lesson from this incident. Pattinson should promise himself to remain calm and avoid panic in such situation, and his fans should refrain from creating such situations for him.
