The Baby hitmaker has given the autographed purple Nikes to Stratford Northwestern Secondary School in Ontario, Canada, where he was a pupil before finding fame.
The right shoe went online on Monday (01Mar11) in honour of the star’s 17th birthday and has already attracted a high bid of $650 (£430). The other shoe will be auctioned at a later date.
Proceeds from Bieber’s kicks, which are described as worn and scuffed, will be used to build a new broadcasting and communications studio at the school.
Justin Bieber is on a clean(eh)ness drive. In the name of raising money he sure is letting go all the unnecessary stuff I suppose. When he needed a haircut, he went ahead and auctioned his tresses uh-huh, I mean really short pieces of hair by tagging it as a good deed. And now when he doesn???t feel like wearing his shoes anymore, Justin wants them to become a fund raiser for his ex-school. Never knew that good-to-be abandoned things can sell for god knows how many times more than its original price, if they are owned by a celebrity.
