Recently there was competition for M TV youth Icon for India, hosted by Ranvir Kapoor, the aim was to choose India’s youth Icon, many would vote for starts like John, Sharukh, any political leader, famous Economist, a sports player, but what I saw yesterday when I was in lucknow urged me to vote for that kid as youth Icon for India, sadly that boy was not in the list of top celebrity.

He was no star, politician, sportsperson, any actor, but he was an Indian who would guide India to the rising. A small kid involved in child labour selling some stuff which I don’t remember, what I remember is his ethic and culture, frankly I am anti India not because I don’t like India or Indians but the work ethic we have among us, we don’t want to work and get rich, get fame, but that moment that small kid changed my thought, annoyed by his constant request to buy his product my brother gave him a 10 rupees note so that he could walk away, an offer many Indian would accept, money without work that is what we like, but the surprisingly he rejected the offer, and said “I can’t take money for what I have not done”, for a moment I stood still and glared that boy, I thought for a moment that I am not in India but in some other place, looking at this we bought 2 of his item and paid him 50 bucks. I guess I may not meet that guy any more in my life time or remember his face or even his name, but the dent of his ethics made a long lasting impression to me.

Have we ever thought that inspite of India producing such great minds, talents we still are counted among developing nations, the reason is we don’t have a work ethic, every where is politics, everyone is trying to take a short cut in his life. Country needs the young ones to unite together and fight against this evil, then only we can imagine of THE RISING.
