A raita recipe with a difference…

This spicy, sweet and tangy recipe is different from the common recipes and is quite popular in the Orissan state of India. It can serve as a perfect side dish for the spicy Indian cuisine.

Ingredients

Vegetable oil: 1 small spoon
Curd: 3cups, you can also use yogurt
Black mustard seeds: One small spoon
Salt: As per taste
Red Chilies: 5, Whole and dried
Garlic: 6 cloves, chopped into small, round slices
Raisons: 10 grams

Method

Take the curd, whisk it with a little bit of water until it becomes smooth, add the raisons and keep aside.

Take a small wok place it on the stove, pour in the oil and let it heat. When the oil is hot put in the mustard seeds and garlic, wait for 2 minutes and add the red chilies, wait and turn over till they turn almost black. Now add this spiced oil to the curd and cover.

Finally add the salt to taste and this easy yet sumptuous dish is ready for you to eat.
