A slap on Sharad Pawar’s face by Mumbai HC
This should at least force Sharad Pawar to stop anti-common men practice!!!
Bombay HC has stayed the disbursal of 1K crore of subsidy to 21 distilleries, many of which are controlled by politicians like Amit Deshmukh (Vilasrao’s son), NCP leaders Naik & Aadik, Mohite-Patil etc.
All thanks to Aurangabad based social activist Chetan Kamble, who filed a public interest litigation against this subsidy order…Such kind of active common men governance action is now very much required for our country.
Kamble challenged the cabinet nod for allowing liquor to be made from food grains, at a time when there is severe shortage faced by state and nation across all types of food grains.Direct beneficiaries of this decision would have been sugar factories, very tightly controlled by Pawar and other politicians of Maharashtra, who run hundreds of distilleries in their factories as a by- product.
Even a senior bureaucrat commented that cash subsidy for liquor is a ridiculous idea and it was pushed with a clear agenda to benefit a handful of politicians.
Common man’s tax payment would have been used to the extent of Rs. 788 crores if this decision would have gone through.
Sharad Pawar himself approved the licenses of food grains based distilleries and now just to save face in front of electorate and common man and media, he has criticized this subsidy. That’s how double standards he has!!!
