Actor George Clooney awarded by French Government

American actor and director George Clooney has been honored with Chevalier des Arts et Lettres medal by French Government. The Hollywood star received the prestigious award from French Culture Minister Christine Albanel last week at a ceremony in Paris. Albanel described George Clooney work and praised hi for his ‘quintessence of an American actor’, ‘infinite talent’ and ‘appealing charm’.

He is one of the two stars voted as ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ by People. The other sexiest man is Brad Pitt. Clooney, 46, has also vowed to never marry and have children in his life after he split with wife Talia Balsam in 1993.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Clooney achieved fame in 1994 for his role of Dr. Doug Ross in the television series “ER”. Slowly other films like ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou’, ‘Syriana’, ‘The Perfect Storm” and the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ series gave him much more.

He is also a member of ‘Not On Our Watch’ an organization that aims at global attention and resources to stop and prevent mass atrocities alongwith other well known Hollywood stars like Mat Damon and Pitt.

His latest film is thriller “Michael Clayton,” in which he plays a “fixer” for a major New York law firm.
