Huge sigh of relief for British actor Hugh Grant, as he will not face any assault charges. The actor was alleged to throw a tub of baked beans at a photographer, Ian Whittaker, who was trying to take his ex partner, Liz Hurley’s, picture in April this year. The charges also alleged that the actor not only threw baked beans but even kicked the lens man. The incident had occurred near Grant’s west London home. Liz Hurley also resides in the same vicinity. Grant was arrested but was granted bail till the final hearing.

While kicking Ian Whittaker a fellow photographer clicked the picture that was even published in thelondonpaper.com. Whittaker further claimed that Grant even cursed his children by saying that he wished his to kids die of cancer.

Explaining the acquittal of Grant Crown Prosecution Service’ spokeswoman said:

We have advised the police that there is insufficient evidence to charge Hugh Grant with any offence in relation to an allegation that he kicked a photographer. This is because there were clear discrepancies between the accounts of independent witnesses and those of the photographers involved.

In past, Grant dated actress Elizabeth Hurley for many years but they separated in 2000 but are believed to be good friends despite. In 1995 Grant was arrested in Hollywood for indecent behaviour with a prostitute.
