Air India has rolled out festive foods for the passengers of Mumbai-London flights, in the route AI-101. This food festival started on 5th of January and will continue till the 31st of January. The menu for the food festival, divided into A and B serves a wide range of foods from Indian and other cuisines, comprising both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. The food festival spreads to all the three classes and serves different foods for different classes.
Taj Sats Air Catering Service has taken up the ladle and spoon along with providing services of a chef taking orders from the passengers on board. Chairman and Managing Director of Air India V.Tulasidas, is planning to start this food festival in flights covering other routes in the days to come.
This “Gourmet Flight” seems quite unique and unusual, as food festivals are usually organized in sea-shores, beaches, restaurants or hotels. Food Festival on air is sure set the passengers in an exotic mood if the food festival is celebrated with an air of convention. In other words, it would be nothing less than a blast to have food tasting, on-air gourmet shopping, culinary competitions and other such festive combos along with the food.
One thing is for sure after the “Grab Gold” offer via chocolates, by Cathay Pacific, the “Gourmet Flight”, started by Air India is an attempt to stick the neck out in the stiff competition.
