All-American Selections: Top Four Vegetables in the year 2006

cphzThe All-American Selections is an organization that started the national trial grounds for testing new flowers and vegetables grown from seed. AAS had been awarding the best vegetable and flower and this year it awarded Purple Haze Carrot, Cilantro ‘Delfino’, Carmen and mariachi in the vegetable category.

Purple Haze is really cool with a purple color. Purple haze is purple outside and has a dark purple tinge with a whitish center inside. Cilantro ‘Delfino’ unlike other corianders has fern-like shape. Carmen is a sweet pepper, 6 inches long, with a thick flesh. This pepper is not like conventional peppers as it has a hybrid chili shape. Mariachi is a very fleshy flavorful pepper, which can be roasted, grilled and broiled.
