…And the Emmy goes to – certainly not House M.D.

hugh laurie

Hugh Laurie might be guilty of not being a doctor in real life but he sure is a hands down winner when it comes to the U.S. sitcoms. The winner of various awards including two Golden Globes, it has been America???s best TV drama series. However, all this doesn???t suffice to call the series and Laurie a winner all the way, since he hasn???t gotten his hands on the Emmy???s yet.

Dr. Gregory house, the grumpy, sarcastic and miserable doctor has been saving lives as easily as he watches television in the series. He is loved, cheered and is a character who is awed by many like me ??? men and women alike for his wittiness and the ability to be miserable and yet so confident. However, funnily enough his popularity hasn???t been enough to impress the Emmy jury yet. Our non-raunchy, miserable, anti-socialite hero has been the best actor at the Screen Actors Guild twice and has played a hattrick in being the People???s choice of best drama series, not to forget Laurie???s entry in the Actors???Laurel once. All of this yet, doesn???t get him an Emmy.

Amongst all the other U.S. sitcoms, House M.D. has been the one constantly rising the popularity charts. It has received its share of critics and appraises. It has been the most watched and most awaited drama series. Already grabbed enough awards, and some quite coveted ones at that, House M.D. for some reason fails to impress the Emmy Jury. May be a public opinion and poll would get the doctor some rest, and the guys at LA Times’ Awards Tracker have done the right thing at the right time by organizing a readers poll. Guess it???s time to consider a neurological disorder in Emmy juries, Dr. House? Interesting case, huh?

Do you think Dr. House deserves an Emmy or is he better off without it? Click here to take a poll.
