Angelina Jolie visits Africa

Angelina Jolie is currently in Africa on behalf of the United Nations to monitor the crisis in Darfur.

But Jolie, the Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the U.N. refugee agency, is not allowed to actually go into Darfur because of the unstable conditions.

But they are letting the actress to hang out at refugee camps about two miles from the border of Sudan. Well this is Jolie’s second visit to Africa since her last trip in 2004.

This time Jolie’s trip is to raise the awareness about the continuing crisis.

Well Jolie has also been nominated to join the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank of international stalwarts including four Secretaries of State – Condoleezza Rice, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright.

But yet nomination has not been approved by the board. It is supposed that board will give its final approval in June.
