Angelina had described about the hell from which her daughter was removed and she also said that the natural mother of her daughter had died of AIDS. The child was malnourished and was suffering from rickets and was six months old when she was adopted. They never returned to visit the place again.

On Sunday, it was discovered that Zahara’s mother, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, is alive and is well. She says that she never had AIDS. It was also found that the man, who arranged for Zahara’s adoption, was now threatening the family that if anyone talked to the journalists, he would put one of the sisters in jail.

Zahara was conceived after her mother was raped and when she was unable to hide her pregnancy, she went to her cousin and there she gave birth to her child and named her Yemasrech. But, she was unable to feed her baby and one day she fled away and her mother, Almaz, went to the local council and asked them to let the baby be adopted so that her life can be saved.

The head of the adoption agency, Dr. Tsegaye Berhe, said that he had the papers with him that proved that the natural mother of the child was dead. Almaz along with three other witnesses had signed it. Although she says that she never said that her daughter was dead, but only the she had fled away.

However, Mentewab is happy that her child has a good future, but only wants that Angelina should bring the child to visit her birthplace because she wants her daughter to know the place where she originally belongs to.
