Angelina Jolie is very close to her mother, she wanted her mum to be there on her side when she gave birth, but her ailing mother couldn’t make it to Namibia. Angie’s mum, Marcheline Bertrand is suffering from terminal cancer.
Marcheline came to visit the family while they were staying in France before Shiloh’s birth, then she went to US for the further treatment. Previously Angelina wanted to give birth in France, where her mother was born and brought up. However, her mother was not in a condition to take up a long flight again so she headed for Namibia.
Angie wanted her mother to meet Shiloh before it gets too late. When she put Shiloh into Marcheline’s arms, it was completely an emotional moment for both of them. Angelina was delighted that her mother finally fought off her illness to see her grand daughter.
