Singer Anthony Kiedis ended the speculation enfolding his newborn son’s name when he disclosed that he has named his first child after his favorite rock band.
Anthony, 44, and girlfriend Heather Christie, 21, had welcomed their first child, a son, on October 2, in Los Angeles and have named him Everly Bear Kiedis.
The couple had a long listing of names but named the newborn Everly as Anthony has a great liking for 50s group, the Everly Brothers. On picking ‘Bear’ to add to ‘Everly’ By The Way star said,
The mama came up with Bear. That made sense to me because he’s from me and I feel like I’m part of the bear clan, and I think it’s nice to have a little bit of earth in your name.
Anthony, the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers was recently present at a fundraiser for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. He was asked how fatherhood was affecting his lifestyle to which he replied,
Being a father is different, it’s much different. I sleep when I can, but he’s letting me off pretty easy so far. He’s a very calm and peaceful kid.
