APIC to launch Multi-grain pasta

multi grain pastaWhen bread, cheerios and biscuits are going whole grain then why pasta should be left behind. While most American pasta is made up of Durum Wheat flour, the American Italian Pasta company has decided to launch multi-grain pasta in three different varieties that will take up the Mueller’s, Golden Grain and Heartland brands. The Golden Grain Pasta is the first whole grain pasta that will contain 80 percent of grains featuring three separate cereals. It had to get to an approval from the Whole Grain Council as it has announced to make a product keeping in mind the trend of whole meal products, manufactured in the food industry.

As per the nutrition report of Dan Trott, executive vice president for marketing at American Italian Pasta Company (AIPC), the consumption of 2 ounce of Multi-grain pasta will deliver 1.7 ounces of whole grains to the Americans.

It is good that the manufacturers of basic flour products are blended with wholegrain to make it healthier. With more and more pasta eaters, the whole grain pasta is sure to make a healthy breakthrough.
