Joey chestnut from San Jose gobbled down 173 chicken wings in the 14th Annual Wing Bowl Competition on Friday, in Philadelphia. Chestnut has beaten the Black widow and Kobayashi last year and placing him equal to the eating rookie of the year. There were 25 competitors in the event and not like the Wingettes; they were the virgin competitors this year. The Virgin Wing Bowl 2006 had excluded the competitors, who had participated in the previous 13 years from the competition.
This event was sponsored by the sports-talk station WIP-AM and it awarded the winner a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. This 22 year old eating champ is going to be a tough competitor in the 2006 Nathan’s contest. This champ has not revealed his secret of eating so much in so little time and staying so oomph! obese should make Chestnut their eating-father.
