Reps for the 23-year old singer and actress Ashlee Simpson have confirmed that she and rocker boyfriend Pete Wentz are engaged.
In an entry posted on her blog on Wednesday Ashlee wrote:
We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.
The couple started seeing each other only in late 2006, and industry experts are suggesting a possible pregnancy to be behind the rushed wedding announcement. Though their reps declined to comment on that question, a source revealed that the couple was keen on getting hitched ASAP, and said:
They are ecstatic and can???t wait to be man and wife. They will be getting married before the end of the year.
Well Ashlee, if you really are knocked up, you shouldn???t really keep it to yourself. I mean you can exactly hide for long can you. Besides it???s never too early to open the bidding for your wedding and baby pics, is it?
