Australia Kills 50million Kangaroos

Australia’s Treasury Minister Ken Henry has recently stated that over the last 10 years the government’s allocation of permits for the commercial slaughter of the nation’s iconic Kangaroos has lead to over 50million of them being hunted.

50million. That’s 5million a year! It is incredible that commercial hunters could catch that many Kangaroos – which are not lazy creatures – and be able to process them. 50million chickens which can be held in cramped quarters and do not require hunting is one thing, but Kangaroos is quite a feat.

Why so many dead Kangaroos? As stated, this is the official tally (many, no doubt, are killed illegally and often just for sport) and are killed only under government law for for-profit purposes. For their meat, to be exact:

He recently cited the granting of permits over the past decade that have allowed the commercial slaughter of 50m kangaroos “primarily to give household pets a bit of variety in their diet”.

Australian dogs apparently like Kangaroo meat with biscuit branch. Presumably, Australian people do not eat Kangaroos, at least not mainstream. Any Australian on IB: do the people there eat Kangaroos?

Peta’s members may call this now the worst Holocaust ever. A genocide no less and seek to bring war crimes and crimes against humanity charges against successive Australian governments. ‘O the angst!
