B N College Principal Prof. Rajkishore Prasad was arrested and released on bail in the case of the assault of Maurya TV reporter Irfan Alam in the college campus in Patna yesterday night.
The victim has lodged an FIR against the cruel principal under sections of 379, 323, 341 and 342 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Pirbahor police station,Patna.
Irfan Alam was discussing with the students during live coverage on student union’s election and agitation in the college campus on Thursday afternoon. He was mercilessly thrashed and ransacked by the B N College Principal Prof. Rajkishore Prasad, his bodyguards, staff and goons. He was beaten with feasts, shoes, fatta, sticks and rifle’s butt. He was locked in the Principal chamber for one hour.During this brawl he also lost his both mobile phones.
Journalist Irfan has internal injury and some injury marks on shoulder and right leg,while the Prof.Rajkishore Prasad has a head injury.After one hour’s struggle the injured victim Irfan was rescued by the intervention of the SHO Nisar Ahmad of the Pirbahor police station.The college principal has also lodged an counter FIR against Irfan.

“Principal Prof.Rajkishore Prasad,his bodyguards,staff and goons (about10 in number)assaulted me and dragged me forcibly inside the Principal’s chamber.After locking the grill and gate of the chamber
they mercilessly beaten me. The principal also told his musclemen to kill me because I look like Kasab….” the injured Irfan told this tragic story to the media persons showing his injury marks.
“He was disturbing the ongoing examination in the college campus. Firstly I asked him to leave the campus immediately. Instead of leaving the college campus with OB van, the crewmen of the TV channel started laying cable wires in the campus.…”said Pof. Rajkishore Prasad.
The agitated students of Patna University and members of different student unions blocked Ashok Rajpath to show their protest against the killer attack on a young TV journalist Irfan Alam.
After that they also mobbed the Patna University administrative office.The leaders of the student unions were demanding the arrest and suspension of the cruel principal and constitution of students’
bodies only through elections.
All student unions of Bihar are absorbing Black Friday today against the attack on media and anti student union election politics.
