What kind of person willfully harms another human being? Subjects them to such unimaginable pain and torture for the simple fact they happen to be different. A different religion, different race, different lifestyle. Whether one agrees with the gay lifestyle or not, I think we can all agree that what is happening to gays in the Middle East is horrifying. At least to those of us with any modicum of conscience.
According to a translated Alarabiya.net article, translated by the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC), some Iraqi gay men are having their anuses glued shut and then force-fed a liquid that causes diarrhea, which then kills them.
“A prominent Iraqi human rights activist says that Iraqi militia have deployed a painful form of torture against homosexuals by closing their anuses using ‘Iranian gum.’ … Yina Mohammad told Alarabiya.net that, ‘Iraqi militias have deployed an unprecedented form of torture against homosexuals by using a very strong glue that will close their anus.’ According to her, the new substance ‘is known as the American hum, which is an Iranian-manufactured glue that if applied to the skin, sticks to it and can only be removed by surgery. After they glue the anuses of homosexuals, they give them a drink that causes diarrhea. Since the anus is closed, the diarrhea causes death. Videos of this form of torture are being distributed on mobile cellphones in Iraq.’
According to this human rights activist, for the past 3 weeks a crackdown on homosexuals has been going on based on a religious decree that demands their death; dozens have been targeted. She says that the persecution of homosexuals is not confined to the Shiite clerics. Some Sunni leaders have also declared the death penalty for sodomy on satellite channels.”
It’s also common knowledge that even though Iran’s Ahmadinejad claims there are no homosexuals in his country, gay youth are often hanged in public. Iranian politician MohsenYahyavi, back in 2007 went so far as to say gays and lesbians deserved to be tortured and executed.
And in this video, an Islamist on a Kuwaiti television show talks of how gays should be tossed from a building, or tortured in public.
What? No-one deserves to be tortured and executed other than those who perpetrate those kinds of crimes. Just because you don’t agree with how someone conducts his/her life, doesn’t give you the right to take theirs. One doesn’t have to condone a certain lifestyle to have compassion or tolerance for others.
These barbaric torturers obviously have neither hearts nor souls.
