The Mummy has been a very successful franchise world over. The third installment of the movie ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the ‘Dragon Emperor’ has its sixth video up for grabs for fans of this horror action and adventure franchise to have a sneak preview. The director of the movie, Rob Cohen, has put the video up for viewing in his official blog for followers of the movie to see it online.
The movie which is set in Shanghai has its sixth video labeled ‘1st Night’ which features an impressive chase scene. The behind the scene footage also has Cohen talk about his love of filming in the night when the world is asleep. He believes in creating magic with movies in the night when everyone is fast asleep.
This 3rd installment of the franchise will see the return of Brendan Fraser as the adventurous Rick O’Connell and will also see Jet Li as the Dragon Emperor. As for Universal Pictures, the production team will be hoping that they maintain the magic of the franchise throughout its next edition. Fans across the globe will be excited to know that the movie is set for an August 1st 2008 release.
Sequels of various movies gain success amongst the viewers depending on if it’s better than the previous one or if the production house could maintain the flow and interest in the franchise. The Mummy Returns saw an applauding welcome amongst viewers and in the Box Office at the time of its release. Now after quiet a while the next installment will hit the big screen.
A lot will depend on how Rick’s character and story shapes because after a gap between two franchise it’s a challenge for director Cohen to bring back the same feel and magic within The Mummy franchise.
