Billy Joel has drummed out his drummer of his dues. The singer has been stiffing out the royalties of his former drummer Liberty DeVitto, who has filed a lawsuit against him. Devitto has been with Joel from 1975 to 2005 and gave beats to many of his blockbuster albums.
How could Joel, who???s no less than a legend and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, screw his longtime musician for petty royalties? Devitto, father of three children is working as a studio musician and teaching to support his family. I wonder how could Devitto wait for so many years to claim his overrunning dues.
This is the bitter reality of music business; where musicians and songwriters are often forgotten when it comes to giving credits.
