Bo Diddley stable after heart attack

It feels glad to report that he 78-year-old rock pioneer and famed bluesman Bo Diddley is in stable condition after spending three days in Gainesville’s North Florida Regional Medical Center after suffering a heart attack.

The singer and guitarist complained of dizziness and nausea during a routine medical checkup with his physician on Friday. He was then rushed to Gainesville hospital near to musician’s north central Florida hometown of Archer where he underwent immediate surgery to improve blood flow to his heart via a stent.

The legendary guitarist was previously hospitalized in Nebraska in May after suffering a stroke following a string of casino performances in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Diddley’s real name is Ellas Bates and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
