After resigning as the England’s captain, footballer David Beckham has also been dropped as ‘the face’ of Police sunglasses. The glasses will now be worn by the actor Antonio Banderas, as the new face of Police striking a deal of £1 million a year.
And if this was not enough, there is a persistent rumour that Gillette, for which Beckham is also the face, is planning to follow in the footsteps of Police sunglasses.
Beckham, who currently earns around £10 million a year from product endorsement deals with Pepsi, Adidas, Motorola and Gillette, might lose it all together.
Seems as if former captain’s football career and his wife’s career emulate each other, Posh also announced that she would no longer sing.
DVB, the couple’s joint label, has produced sunglasses, perfume and, this week, announced plans to produce its own line of jeans. David’s own range of man bags – are rumoured to be next.
As of now the couple is desperately trying to retain their celebrity status, which is now losing glory by every passing day.
