Bravo to air a reality series for selecting the TOP CHEF in the world

Something very exciting and breath-taking is going to happen in the world of culinary arts. Bravo, which was nominated for Emmy, for its Project Runaway episode will be airing 10 episodes of a one-hour reality competition series to crown the TOP CHEF in the culinary industry. The chef who wins the prestigious Top Chef title will get a cash prize worth $100,000, which will be utilized to boost his or her culinary career, and will appear in the Food & Wine Magazine and Food & Wine Classic in Aspen in June.

Every episode in the series will be divided in two parts, where the former will judge the basic abilities, via a quick fire test and the second will be an elimination round where the chefs adaptability and creativity. In the second round they have to exhibit their culinary skills by cooking up unusual and exotic foods and catering to the demands of the consumer and living up to the standards of the hospitality and culinary industry. Twelve aspiring chefs will be heading to San Francisco for their culinary shot. The participation ranges from a varied horizon of culinary graduates and students, celebrity chefs and talented moms. The twelve shortlisted participants are as follows:

If you think that it is any ordinary competition you had better think again as Bravo is known to air thrilling series and this time it is going to feature an extremely pressurized week for the chefs…watch it out for yourselves on March 15th,2006. This show will be hosted by reputed chef and the creator of the culinary website www.oliveandpeach.com, Katie Lee Joel.

Katie will not only host the show she will also hone the culinary skills of the chefs during the series. The regular judges will be Tom Colicchio, co-owner of New York’s reputed restaurants and mentor of many top chefs, and Gail Simmons from the reputed Food and Wine Magazine. Every week there will be a guest judge who would critically appreciate the dishes prepared by the competing chefs in the elimination rounds.
On the basis of the judgment a chef will be eliminated every week, until two chefs will be left for the final round, which will be conducted in Las Vegas.

So guys that just shows that how tough it is going to be for the chefs, well it has to be as in the cut-throat competition of the culinary world only the best sells. Bravo is doing a wonderful job by giving a platform to the aspiring chefs. While there will be only one chef who take the piece of cake as the Top Chef, other chefs who would be eliminated at the end of th day will find their experiences in the Top Chef series, equally enriching and rewarding.
