Denise Van Outen, the famous British TV personality, is facing a problem she never would have imagined.The producers of her American reality show feel that the audience is having problem understanding her accent.
The 32-year-old Essex girl is the host of NBC‘s reality show Grease: You’re The One That I Want, which aims to find a new musical cast to play the characters from the 70s movie Grease.
Denise is a successful TV personality with years of television experience and that made her the outright choice for the American reality show.
The producers were clearly impressed by the Essex girl’s attractive personality and strong English accent. But her estuary twang is not going well with the American audience. As a source told the Evening Standard:
The producers thought Denise would be immensely popular with the American public, but unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out. She is a very attractive girl and has years of television experience. That, along with her English accent, meant that she should have been a hit in the States … but they aren’t keen on her voice. She has made her career over here on the fact she is a down-to-earth Essex girl, but they just don’t get it in America.
As her name suggests, Denise Van Outen has a Dutch origin, hailing from Basildo, Essex. Denise has to her credit many talk shows and she has appeared in a couple of films too but her main forte is stage.
