So what if the whole world has turned hostile towards Mel Gibson in the wake of his ugly battle with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva? He can still count on a handful of people who truly believe in him and are ready to stand for him. His family, his ex-wife, ME… and Britney Spears.
Britney is supporting Mel and trying to help him through his recent legal troubles. And why not?! After all, it was Mel who went out of his way to lend her the much-needed support following her much-publicized breakdown in 2008.
In Touch Weekly Magazine quotes a close friend of Britney as saying,
Mel has been talking to her a lot. They speak on the phone all the time, usually late at night. Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is. She wants people to give him a second chance – just like he gave her one when everyone else turned away.
That’s a sweet gesture, Britney! I’m happy that you are there for Mel when he seriously needs people like me and you to tell the world that he is not the devil as portrayed by the media. And I’m sure we’ll have company very soon.
