Busta Rhymes busted, lands three years of probation

Fame and recklessness go hand in hand, especially for rappers. In yet another instance of this fact, rapper Busta Rhymes (known as Trevor Smith to his parents) was sentenced to three years of probation and 10 days of community service.

Now the sentence might seem a bit harsh to his fans but nothing could be farther from the truth. Rhymes has, as a matter of fact, pleaded his way out of a possible term in jail. He pleaded guilty to separate charges of assault, DUI and weapons possession. This amounted to a U-turn form his earlier stance of not guilty.

Judge Larry (apparently a fan) handed the Grammy-nominee probation despite prosecutors??? plea that Busta deserved time behind bars for assaulting a fan, Robert Lebron, and his driver in 2006. For DUI in 2007 and a driving with a suspended license in 2006, the rapper landed himself a fine of $1250.

And here???s what a lavishly dressed singer said after the sentence:

I just want to say that I’m very grateful to the judge, I’m very grateful to the system. I believe in the system. It hasn’t failed me personally yet.

Rhymes also said that he will learn from this experience. Yeah right! Like we haven???t had enough of this baloney from celebs already. They always come back for some more misadventures.
