2. Curdle the cream

Take a spoon full of curd and mix it well with the milk cream on the first collection itself. Keep this outside the refrigerator overnight and place it in the refrigerator in the next morning. Keep collecting milk cream everyday in this same vessel and mix well every time. This ensures the curdling happens evenly.

3. Blend the curdled cream

The day you want to make buttermilk, remove the curdled cream from the fridge and keep it outside so it comes to room temperature. Then, using a blender, blend the entire cream. After 2-3 minutes of blending, add cold water to this. Again blend for a minute until you see the butter surfacing.

4. Separate the butter from the liquid

Now, remove the mixture in a vessel and the butter will start to surface from the liquid below. Remove it in another vessel as it can be used later for cooking or eating with bread. The liquid remaining below is buttermilk.

5. Add garnishes

Add some salt, dried mango powder or cumin powder to the buttermilk. Mix well and pour in a glass. Garnish with coriander leaves and mint leaves if you have any and serve chilled.
