Playing a mother shouldn’t be a big deal for the talented actress Cameron Diaz. Many speculations have risen that will the actress be able to go back to younger, glamorous roles after she plays mother to a teenage daughter in “My Sister’s Keeper.”
Well, I guess today’s audience does not look for eye candy alone in the films, they like to watch characters with substance. If Diaz has wisely chosen the character, people would definitely accept her and there shouldn’t be any dearth of good roles for her.
The actress too doesn’t seem much pondering on “what after” and says, “I just find my way through it. I didn’t really even think about the fact that I would be playing a mother. I didn’t think about it in terms of what it meant to my career. I thought of what it meant to the story, and who this woman was and what her life experience was and what was happening in front of her. I didn’t think, ‘Oh, my God, if I play a mother, and a mother of teenagers, how is this going to affect my career?’ It didn’t even phase me.”
