The Mangalore based multi state co-operative Campco (Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative) is also getting health-centered as it is planning to introduce diabetic chocolates and serial bars (chocolate chikkis). The co-operative will be manufacturing the chocolates in alliance with a Chennai based pharmaceutical Company to manufacture the diabetes chocolate in its manufacturing unit in Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district. The chocolates are expected to be in the market by the month of March or April.
This is supposed to be the first Indian company to launch diabetes chocolate as the company is moving from “me-too” brands to manufacturing health chocolates to expand its product range.
