The dynamics of regionalism and nationalism has altogether taken a different turn in the modern world. Present and past conflicts in India, Balkans, Sri Lanka, Africa, and other countries provide a stark reminder of what happens when regional, ethnic or religious differences break societies and ultimately feed on national integrity. But controlled regionalism can provide significant benefits giving way to a strong nation.
