Cannes Film Festival 2013: Dazzling Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto walk on Red Carpet in style

The 66th International Film Festival at Cannes kicked off on May 15. The 12-day festival is celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema and got inaugurated with the screening of the film, ?The Great Gatsby,? which is directed by Baz Luhrmann. The legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is making a Hollywood debut with this film that includes Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire as its star cast. The India cinema?s megastar shared the red carpet in style with his co-stars and director. The 71-year-old actor dazzled in white pants and shoes, with a light blue-colored, striped jacket at the time of the photo call.

On the main day, Amitabh Bachchan was sparkling in a black sequined tuxedo jacket that was complemented by a white shirt, black pant and polka-dotted bowtie. At the festival?s opening ceremony, he preferred to address his audience in his mother tongue Hindi. In his tweets, he messaged that it was imperative for him to do so, especially when Cannes is celebrating Indian cinema?s 100 years. On this occasion, more than 15 other celebrities are also expected to arrive from the South Indian film industry and Bollywood. There are several films to be screened at Cannes, including ?Bombay Talkies,? and ?Ugly? by Anurag Kashyap.

The top Bollywood beauty, Vidya Balan, made her appearance a day before the film festival started. Gorgeous Vidya, who is also in the jury panel, arrived in style as she wore a lehenga in dark brownish-red shade, with a high-neck choli in same color and a dupatta in black. Her dress was designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. During the photo call, Vidya was seen in a gold-bordered, off-white sari with a net embroidered blouse in black. She complemented a black and golden bordered, off-white lehenga with a high-neck black choli and a net embroidered, off-white dupatta while she attended the opening ceremony.

Sonam Kapoor also adopted an Indian look with a traditional outfit at the opening ceremony. She was seen in an off-white sari with gold embroidery, designed by Anamika Khanna. During the screening of the film, ?Jeune & Jolie,? Sonam was seen in a Dolce & Gabbana strapless gown that had a blooming petals design on it. Actress Freida Pinto of the Slumdog Millionaire fame also looked elegant in a halter-neck pink Gucci gown, with added accessories like a gold-beaded belt and some Chopard jewels on it. So, everyone?s style at Cannes was influencing and unique in its own charming way.
