It???s raining awards in Hollywood ??? we???re not talking about the Oscars yet ??? it???s the not-so-prestigious Razzie awards that are given to the most-mocked and ???celebrates??? worst achievement in Hollywood motion pictures! Clearly no one would ever desire a Golden Raspberry Award but this time round it was raining raspberries for Night Shymalan at the 31st Annual Razzie Awards with 5 stupendous wins for The Last Airbender – taking the Worst Screenplay and Worst Director back home (it was such a shame that he wasn???t physically present on the night though!). Sex and the City II was also one of the winners at the Razzies after having won in two categories ??? Worst Screen Ensemble and Worst Actress (The Four “Gal Pals”)! I guess that had to follow after their disastrous innings at the box-office!

Given to the worst in Hollywood — or, the films voters most liked to mock — the Razzies marked their 31st year of skewering movies on Saturday night. One guy not celebrating? M. Night Shyamalan, whose film “The Last Airbender” was named Worst Picture and given Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3D. Not only that, but Shyamalan took home Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.
Ouch. Predictably, Shyamalan wasn’t there to bask in the glory of the mockery, and comedian Russell Peters accepted on his behalf.
The Razzies are a light-hearted take on all that does not get acknowledge at the Oscars! The Razzies 2010 clearly was the ???night??? for Shyamalan with The Last Airbender getting a clear sweep. Close up second was Sex and the City II. Surely a well-deserved awards ceremony ??? let???s all toast for the Golden Raspberry winners!
