Despite often credited with ushering in the golden era of Indian Cinema, Guru Dutt (Vasant Kumar Shivashankar Padukone) had a very depressing, dominant rayless side to his life.
Unfortunately, the star drooped to a cloudless world owing to his unsuccessful marriage with singer Geeta Dutt. The failed relationship not only affected him mentally and physically, but also brought his health devastatingly down which people believed led Dutt to his consistent drug usage. Some even believe that his affair with the renowned actress Waheeda Rehman caused further damage to the star’s career. Nevertheless, it has always remained hazy whether Guru Dutt’s sad demise was a suicide or was caused due to an accidental drug overdose.

Revered for her vivacious appeal, Parvin Babbi witnessed an unlighted, shadowy side as well. In spite of being an incredibly successful actress and model of her time, the actress fell in the unfortunate snare of sedative consumption.
The glamorous actress soon witnessed her ill-fated downfall for her frequent episodes of drugs usage. She was diabetic for most of her life due to the side-effects of anti-psychotic medications. Besides her active participation in drugs like LSD, Parvin Babbi also had multiple, unsuccessful love relationships. Bit to dismay, the actress was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on January 20, 2005.
Although the glitzy journey of stunning apparels and walking the ramp is pretty frequent when it comes to modeling, but the voyage of Geetanjali Nagpal indeed throws many, off-balance.
Despite accomplishing some really astounding successful events as one of the top models of her times, the model regrettably has been believed to be a victim of alcohol addiction and drug abuse. It may catch unawares but some even found the famous model spending her nights in temples and parks, wandering across the streets and working as a maid. Though almost unbelievable, but the model also spent nights with men for money to satiate her need for drugs. According to certain doctors who diagnosed her later, Geetanjali Nagpal was a patient of fear psychosis.
Another successful model who had a disheartening journey and depicts some harsh reality of glamour world is Renu Rathi. The thriving model who shared many years of her life on the ramp, eventually witnessed a huge disaster after having failed for several big banners in the industry.
Pretty much like Geetanjali Nagpal, Renu Rathi was also found lying absolutely abandoned on the streets. If reports are to be believed, the model was apparently been thrown out of her apartment in Bandra by her landlord for her serious drug addiction.
The highly prominent face of Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt started his rich expedition of glamour and desirability in 1981. Son of Indian Cinema veterans Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, Sanjay however had an ugly side too with his incessant drug problems in the initial stages of his career.
Although, the actor underwent treatment at drug rehab center in Texas, his voyage is something that still makes the prominent actors, quite swayed away by emotions. Manisha Koirala not only rose to glamour in a very competitive era, but also saw a sooty time later.

Manisha would often share limelight for her drinking and smoking habits and also for her drug addiction, which shook her career massively. In fact, the downfall was also credited to her personal life which was usually judged and scrutinized closely.
Another bright, incredibly flourishing model who unbelievably devastated her own career is Shivani Kapoor, Karishma and Kareena Kapoor’s cousin. In a nutshell, she came, she conquered and then suddenly disappeared.
The sad desolation began when Shivani was discovered with drug abuse incidences and often broken relationships in her personal life that usually kept the media gung ho. Although, there were always news that reported about the model’s sad downfall, the blockbuster movie ‘Fashion’, however seems to have depicted Shivani’s controversial life in a way. Currently, the model is staying with her family in London.
Lastly, but probably somewhere even more disappointing and controversial, Viveka Babajee’s voyage also shows some extremely disheartening bits.
