Coffee-chain is whipping yogurt! It had better brew good coffee

starbucks 11Starbucks is apparently competing with McDonalds as it is reported to have rolled out Fruits and Yogurt Parfaits in its breakfast category in 16 of Starbucks‘ 20 markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston and Dallas.

The point is not what the coffeehouse is giving in its breakfast item, consisting of a 320 calorie-filled blueberry and strawberry syrup, vanilla yogurt and granola topping. What refutes its claim to offer the Fruit and Yogurt Parfait, as a healthy look out for consumers in a coffee chain is the very fact that McDonalds’ Fruit and Yogurt Parfait is healthier at 280 calories for 10oz and even competitive is its 5.3oz cup for $1.

Fact that can make any coffee addict feel the nip in Starbucks dominating coffee profile is that it has been recently challenged by the gourmet coffee blends of McDonalds and Burger King.

This just proves that the breakfast chains with an already successful breakfast menu are also rocking the coffee-cups. Therefore, it is better that Starbucks improvises its coffee blend to live-up to its image as the coffee giant, instead of making a foray into breakfast offerings, which has better place to make bucks.
