Coke’s new beverages to substitute wine in food-wine pairings

What reports say is a transformed product portfolio of Coke, which includes specialty beverages to go with gourmet foods. Coke has joined hands with Culinary Institute of America to manufacture a range of gourmet beverages, and market it in restaurants only. As per Coca Cola Food Service and Hospitality Division President Chris Lowe:

The recipes run ‘from the tame to the exotic’.


Coca-Cola
has rolled out some real great blends in the acidic Fresca Pomegranate and in the spicy Coca-Cola Hot Tamale. The consumers have to be patient with spending bucks in a restaurant until it reaches the grocery stores, and it all depends on the response of the consumer towards the dish. The chefs should aim at balancing flavors while they pair the beverages with the foods, as their culinary skills to handle the new product will ultimately decide the fate of Coke.
