Cola makers fuelling unhealthy carbonated beverages with functional ingredients

cola cola3 7Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have perhaps failed in their pitching into non-carbonated healthy beverages products, as they are reportedly concentrating on restoring the image of their flagship products with functional ingredients and a new marketing stunt namely sparkling beverages.

Facts provided claim that the Coca-Cola will be fortifying its Diet Coke with vitamins B-6 and B-12, magnesium, zinc and niacin, while PepsiCo’s attempts would be to equalize Diet Pepsi to energy drinks by adding into it ginseng and an extra dose of caffeine.

Doubtless of the fact that cases of caffeine abuses have been popping-up, due to which energy drinks are relegated into the zone of unpopularity and as said earlier with no evidence to certify the functionality of herbs like ginseng, the latter stands of little value.

To top it all when consumers are moving away from calorific carbonated beverages to healthy and organic beverages, there is no point for the cola makers to invest in a sector, which is stripped away from counters in fear of cyber police.

Coca-Cola and Pepsi are forcefully trying to tag-up unhealthy carbonated beverages with so-called health ingredients and the possible reason maybe the temptations shown by the energy drink manufacturers to both the consumers as well as cola makers.
