Here comes a new allegation on magician David Copperfield. A Seattle woman is alleging that magician David Copperfield raped her.
Fox News is reporting that the woman told Seattle police the magician raped her while she was in the Bahamas in July. Because the alleged incident happened abroad and the woman did not report it until she returned to the United States, Seattle authorities turned over the case to the FBI.
On Thursday, FBI agents raided magician’s Las Vegas warehouse and a theatre and seized a computer hard drive, a digital camera system and nearly $2 million in cash.
But Copperfield’s attorney David Chesnoff insists the sexual misconduct charges against his client are false. He said in a statement:
“We are in touch with the investigators. Possible sexual abuse claims against my client are false. Unfortunately, false allegations are all too often made against famous individuals.
We are confident the investigation will conclude favorably. We are in touch with the investigators and are respecting the confidentiality of the investigation.”
Copperfield is a top illusionist. So can’t he just make all these charges against him disappear?
