I read an article in Instablogs about Dalith oppression. Not alone Dalits but people are oppressed with castism ie suspecious dalitism. I meant that ‘suspecting a person to be a Dalit’.
I look a bit dark and dont take much care of the skin. So it burnt becos of sun and pollution and I look darker than a negro. So my room mates are avoiding me like a plague.
I am a christian by faith and I practice it every day . The problem arose by my caste which they suspect belongs to Dalits. I didn’t clarify them . Why should I ? Being postgraduates they behave like that is too much. So I didn’t satisfy their fears.
But I told that I belong to the highest community ie its we are Gods people and we are Israel and Jews. God is the main person in our lives.
In olden days the Daliths used to clean feacal matter. They earn their livelihood by it. In my childhood to in towns one Dalith lady used to clean the feacal matter which we did in our toilet which has no toilet basin or nothing but simple mud floor. She used to collect it in her basket and throw at some far off place.
So people developed some aversion I suppose. But I ask a thing. From where the shit came? Did it come from hell? No. It came from our bodies and shit is a substance. Nothing more than that.
If God created human beings then he created the excretory system too. Isn’t it? Then are u a person who teaches God wisdom? No. You can’t.
And the other thing I observe in our society is that people are so narrow minded that the fault is not of the ancient practices or ancient customs. But the fault is peoples. They don’t want to be good. The times are going to be worsened even a lot.
Sexual abuse happens in every sphere of life. Say for instance in educational institutes. Dalith women are used by lecturers and professors to pacify their lust. And in fields where they work the masters use them to quench their ugly passion. Daliths are thrown aside to not participate in society becauses of reservation system. I don’t know why this reservation is given to daliths. Its bane to them . Not a boon. And the caste system is still alive. I think our people wanted the caste system to be alive. If they want to keep it alive I tell and incident which makes everyone laugh.
We all know according to ancient scriptures ‘A Rakshas ‘ birth is the worst birth of all. But we know that Hidimbi is a wife of Bhima and she is a “Rakshas”. Many feel that SC communities are Rakshas and Dasyas became Dasas. There is a point here . Rakshas doesn’t belong to SC communities. But actually some forward castes in Andhra Pradesh belong to Raakshas. Lot of misguidance and misinterpretation led to this ignorance.
But when u can accept all practices which are bad and worse we have to not complain about this too.
People are bad . Their understanding is bad. We have corruption. Our plumbers do the job of cleaning toilets with hands worse than what the Daliths did in ancient India.
What we have to do is we have to think of overall cleaning . Complaining just saying Daliths are ill treated etc will not help. It just exaggerates problem and caste system. The change has to come slowly and the most important thing is we have to change the thinking process. We have to take a decision that
We should not hurt anybody as far as we can. We have to take a decision to respect each other. While in India we think “Ahimsa Paramodharmaha” . Then why this Dalith “Himsa” . Not proper.
Bad things are done by people who are bad. Good people too are led astray by these reservation opportunities in educational institutes etc.
So don’t antagonize everyone . Don’t hate what is God given. God made the whole world and we are all part of it. Respect each other. That we can respect ourselves.
