Dan Fogelberg Dies of Prostate Cancer

Dan Fogelberg, the famed singer and songwriter who penned classics such as ‘Leader of the Band,’ is no more. Fogelberg lost his battle with prostate cancer Sunday and took his last breath at his home in Maine.

The singer died three years after being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. He was 56. A post on his Web site confirmed,

He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.

This is a really a sad news for all music lovers. Fogelberg was a great singer. In 70s and 80s he had several platinum and multiplatinum records. Some of his hits were ‘The Power of Gold’, ‘Same Old Lang Syne’ and ‘Leader of the Band.’
