David Laris rolls out 23,000 handmade chocolates in 24 unusual flavors

David Laris and his team from Shanghai have rolled out an astonishing 23,000 handmade chocolates in 24 unusual flavors of Szechwan Pepper, Sweet Scented Osmanthus, Green Tea, Coconut Ginger, Praline Cayenne, Chilli, Black Pepper, Earl Grey, Lavender and more. These chocolates will be on display until May 10 for all the Chocolate fans in the Empire Hotel & Country Club during the Chocolate Afternoon Tea at the Lobby Lounge, dessert section of the dinner buffet and Sunday Brunch at Atrium Cafe.

To quote Nigel Moore, the hotel’s Director of Operations:

We are delighted with the response to this promotion. The sale of chocolates went beyond our estimations and we have had to organise for more chocolate boxes to be delivered from Shanghai to meet – the demand.

This promotion could well have been turned into a chocolate festival so as to attract trade for the chocolate.
