When Victoria Beckham, now of course back in her all too familiar role as a Spice Girls member, touched down on the LAX airport on Thursday from London, she was greeted by her husband, the wonted flock of cameramen and paparazzi and a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet. Victoria Beckham had gone to London to do some promoting stuff for the English girl band’s new single Headlines.
The black Porsche might have cost £100,000 with £100,000 more lashed out on modification but the amount is peanuts to the Beckhams. David Beckham is arguably the highest earning footballer in the world with fortunes worth billions and spending just £200,000 on a gift is hardly an act that Becks would think twice about.
Since landing in the United States in the summer, both David and Victoria have been under intense media focus. Beckham might have played a handful of games for his new club Los Angeles Galaxy and Victoria might still be a few steps away from resurrecting her music career with her reunited friends at Spice Girls but the following of the duo both by the US media and the public alike has been massive.
