Deception with democracy and politics in India

12 politician caricatures BDQi5 35628

We are the so called biggest democracy in the world but definitely not the best one.Our democratic system is,of course,an example of a system with the participation of more than a billion of huge population but the the matter ends there only. We, in spite of being a democracy, are still not able to treat our people in a democratic way.We had been feudal in nature for centuries and still we are feudal today. Our politicians are called the representatives of our people but do they really represent our people’s interests? or they simply deceive the people in the name of representing them.Do our politicians have enough time to think about the people and their problems unless they are forced to do so during election time?Is it really possible for a common man, even a qualified and well placed,to be able to meet the high profile politicians except a very few?The political leaders once elected and established keep themselves away from the general public in the name of security and business. They are often surrounded with some well connected, loyal and selfish people.Similarly, our bureaucrats too are not accessible to the common man for listening his grievances. The bureaucrats are although the public servant, but they behave like they are the masters. They keep a certain distance from the common people and though they are appointed to take care of the people’s problem, they never be available to the people directly. We Indians have the habit of distancing ourselves from the common masses once we get some prominence. We,by nature, are hardly democratic truly.Once we get an important position we never want to allow others to come to the similar position although we pretend not to do so.This hypocrisy of nature makes us a deceptive lot, whatever the reason may be for this.
