Delight your taste buds with the tasty chicken and vegetable sandwich

You can consider them a snack or a light meal, prepare them with cheese, peanut butter, your favorite fruit-flavored jelly, chicken, steak, piquant sauces, fresh vegetables, mayonnaise or anything you feel like eating with bread. Yes, I am talking about sandwiches, simple yet delicious food items made from all possible ingredients one can think about.

Countless varieties of sandwiches are popular throughout the world. Club sandwich, hot dog, muffuletta, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, submarine sandwich, toasted sandwich, double-decker, hamburger are just a few ways of preparing and relishing a sandwich. In addition to these, I am sure everyone has their own version of a sandwich they make and like to have when their stomach starts growling with hunger.

Lets try making scrumptious chicken and vegetable sandwiches at home by using this simple recipe.

Ingredients:
Wheat/ white bread slices – 8 nos. (two slices for each sandwich)
Tomato ketchup – 4 tbsp
Cheese spread – 4 tbsp
Mayonnaise – 1 cup
Tomatoes (sliced finely) – 2 large-sized
Onion (sliced extremely fine) – 1 large-sized
Green bell pepper (make juliennes) – 1 no.
Pink/green cabbage (shredded extremely fine) – 1/2 cup
Lettuce leaves (large) – 8 nos.
Chicken (boneless, boiled and shredded)- 1/2 cup
Black/white pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chilly flakes – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method:
1.) In a mixing bowl, mix chicken and all vegetables except lettuce leaves and tomatoes. To this add the pepper powder and red chilly flakes and mix well.
2.) Now add mayonnaise to the vegetable mixture and mix well. Add salt as per requirement. Divide this mixture into four equal portions.
3.) In a separate bowl, mix the ketchup and cheese spread together to get a uniform paste. Divide this into four equal portions.
4.) Take bread slices two at a time and apply one portion of the ketchup-cheese spread mixture evenly over the two slices.
5.) After this place a lettuce leaf on one slice and then place about four slices of tomato.
6.) Spoon one of the four portions of vegetable-mayonnaise mixture onto the tomatoes over the bread slice and spread evenly. Cover this with another lettuce leaf and place the second bread slice over this.
7.) Repeat the same procedure for remaining bread slices. This will give you four sandwiches.
8.) Go ahead and indulge in the sandwiches. You can take an additional helping of ketchup with the sandwiches.
