DJ AM was laid to rest in a private ceremony Wednesday at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in L.A. However, the chapter relating to his estate and financial matters will take another month to come to a conclusion. The fast-track DJ has left behind an estate worth $1 million estate, but no will. This has forced his mother, Andrea Gross, to file papers in LA court to seek permission to oversee her son’s estate to clear up his financial matters.

People reports,

The celebrity deejay (real name Adam Goldstein) did not have a will at the time of his death, leaving his mother as his sole heir. Goldstein had an annual gross income of $3.5 million and other property valued at $400,000. However, he carried a debt of $2.9 million, leaving his estate valued at approximately $1 million.

The filing, which states that Goldstein had no spouse or children, reveals the deejay was in talks to sell a home in Los Angeles prior to his death. His mother is also seeking court permission to recover his personal belongings. A court hearing is set for Oct. 7.

Let’s hope there are no surprise element embedded in this story. R.I.P. Adam Goldstein.
