Renowned former-World Wrestling Federation Champ ???The Rock??? has been going great guns in Hollywood. Dwayne Johnson???s movie career has been lit up with a variation of roles. Action and comedy seems effortless for The Rock, and he is going to test his acting prowess by playing a biopic character in an upcoming movie based on elite country musician Charley Pride. Charley Pride is a renowned country singer, with having sold more than 70 million records worldwide, he remains the undisputed pride of the Afro-American community for establishing his mettle in a ground that has been held herald by white American folks all along.

Though Terrence Howard was confirmed to play Charley Pride, his loss might just turn out to be Dwayne???s gain. With Charley Pride casting aside his own personal doubts as to whether Dwayne would be apt to play his role in the biopic, The Rock is going to be rooted all the way.

According to TorontoSun, Charley Pride confirmed to the Canada???s Telegraph-Journal that the Rock will be characterizing him in the upcoming biopic,

(It) got fumbled… New management took over the studio that was ready to begin site work on it… And a decision was made to put all their resources behind thrillers – fast actioners. They felt that was where the big box office money was then… Now it’s back on track again but with action and comedy star Dwayne Johnson portraying me in the title role… Terrence, it seems, is tied up on other involvements for a few years. Terrence is no doubt a more in-depth actor academically, but Dwayne is such a force on screen. It startled me a little at first, but he flew down to Dallas and spent a day with me just sitting, talking recently. And when he left it was like parting with an old friend. We had such similar views on so many things.

Dwayne ???The Rock??? Johnson is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood, and playing Charley would be a tremendous boast to his pride indeed!
