Exotic fruits making bold appearances in baked foods

Figures reveal that last year 81 new bakery products were formulated out of exotic fruits in Europe, out of which 13 new bakery products came from the UK.

The growth in the exotic fruit market is also reported by Centre for Culinary Development (CCD), where European Nations are importing fruits to be used in baked foods. Mintel’s Global New Product Database reports about food manufacturing units like Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury and Somerfield, who have rolled out different blends of fruits in their confectionaries and baked foods.

This shows that to keep up with the nutritional and flavor profile of the consumers, bakery industry is making new agendas and product profiles that would heavily bank upon the exotic fruits in the world.

Consumers can really rock with lemon and passion fruit shortbread, coconut rings, coconut and cherry loaf cakes and more such blends, with the incorporation of exotic fruits every single day.
